PHOTOS: Zombies Invade Asbury Park Boardwalk

Fifth annual event held in Asbury Park this weekend

The Asbury Park boardwalk looked more like the set of "The Walking Dead" this weekend as thousands of people gathered for the New Jersey Zombie Walk on Saturday.

The fifth annual event asked people to come out dressed as the undead and participate in a ghoulish walk along the boardwalk in Asbury before a huge crowd.

According to the Zombie Walk Facebook page, over 15,000 people participated in the walk and more than 5,000 came as spectators. The previous record for the world's largest gathering of zombies, according to Guinness World Records, was just over 4,000 in Asbury Park in 2010, making this weekend's event the most successful zombie walk in history.
