Spooktacular Returns for Another Haunting Event

Volunteers needed for annual scare.

Fall is in the air in Freehold again which means the return of the annual Spooktacular Haunted Hayride is just around the corner.

In order to make this year’s event a success again volunteers are being sought to take part in the annual event. Local residents are needed to take part in the Spooktacular’s “skits,” which can range from zombies in the park to scary bridezillas to Thriller dancers and everything in between.

The Spooktacular will return to Lake Topanemus Park on October 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and committee co-chair Billy Anderson said this year’s edition will have some new features to make it a more memorable experience. “We’ll be starting from the Robertsville Road Entrance which will give us a new and scarier haunting Route and allow for sufficient parking in the adjacent field,” he said.

Food will be provided by Applebee’s and there will be face painters as well as Halloween games during the course of the festivities.

Taking part in the event can count toward community service hours and there is also a prize for best skits during the event. For more information check out the Spooktacular’s website or follow them on Twitter at @SpookyFreehold for all the latest updates.
