Downtown Concert Series Brings Grammy Award-Winning String Quartet to Freehold

The Parker Quartet will perform at St. Peter's Church on Saturday, May 5

The Downtown Concert Series will end their 2011-2012 season with a performance by the Grammy award-winning Parker Quartet.

 “It is a unique privilege to bring a string quartet with this level of acclaim and recognition to the Downtown Concert Series,” said Gail Reilly, chair of the Downtown Concert Series.

This string quartet was formed in 2002 and won the Grammy for Best Chamber Music Performance in 2011. The group is comprised of Daniel Chong and Karen Kim on the violins, Jessica Bodner on the viola and Kee-Hyun Kim on the cello. All of the musicians are only in their late 20’s.

These talented performers will now bring their amazing talent to the intimate stage of for the Downtown Concert Series on Saturday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. 

According to Reilly, the combination of the talent and the ambiance is not to be missed. “This presents a rare opportunity to see truly exquisite artists performing in a setting whose intimacy allows you to be completely enveloped by their music,” said Reilly.

After the concert, the audience is invited to meet the young artists at the .  

Tickets for each concert in the series are $20. Discounted tickets for young music lovers 18 and under are available for $10. Seating is limited and tickets should be pre-ordered.
