Freehold Idol Competition Continues Despite Severe Weather

Two winners were selected in Wednesday night's competition.

Thunderstorms sent Wednesday night’s round of Freehold Idol indoors at the American Hotel.

The latest round of the singing contest featured six contestants between the ages of 12 and 19. Neal Girandola, president of the Freehold Borough Arts Council, and Lee Ottman, front man for the popular 1980s band NRG, returned to the judges’ table. The were joined by area rock musician Jo Wymer, who recently released her first album “Living With Scars.”

Freehold resident and aspiring star Veronica Kole, 17, opened and closed the evening with Pink’s “Perfect” as well as original songs.
