Freehold Residents Place in Senior Art Show

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of rain or thunderstorms Monday afternoon. The high for the day will be 87 degrees and the overnight low will be 68.

2011 Senior Citizen Art Show Winners

Winners in the 2011 Monmouth County Senior Citizen Juried Art Contest & Exhibition were recognized Wednesday at Monmouth County Library Headquarters. First-, second- and third-place awards were given, as were honorable mentions in 10 categories. The following Freehold residents were recognized for their artistic achievements:

  • Alison Tave took first place in the nonprofessional acrylic category for her painting “First Prize.”
  • Arkadi Dimant won in the nonprofessional oil category for the piece “Carnival in Peru.”
  • Phyllis Antonini came in second in the nonprofessional oil category for her work, “Olivia in Charge.”
  • Stephen Ravner took second place in the professional photography category for “Erin’s Pub.”
  • Paul Bram won in the nonprofessional photography category for “Chihuly Flowers.”
  • Laura Geck came in third place in the nonprofessional watercolor category for “Image in the Park.”
  • Barbara Bram, Kuterinis George, Douglas Kaplan and Marjorie Smith received honorable mentions.
Meetings

The Monmouth County Development Review Committee will meet Monday at 1 p.m. in the Hall of Records building.

Sheriff’s Sale

An auction of Monmouth County foreclosures will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hall of Records building.

Support Group

The Prostate Cancer Support Group (Man to Man) will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. at CentraState Medical Center. The group is facilitated by its members, a registered nurse, and a lifestyle management coordinator.
