Step into 'A Carnival of Books' at County Library's Children's Book Fair

The Monmouth County Library's Children's Book Fair will be held on Saturday, March 16.

If you want your child to dive into reading and become more excited about books, be sure to take them to a place that will be making reading as fun as the circus!

The Monmouth County Library is holding their 2013 Children’s Book Fair on Saturday, March 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan Township and this year their theme is “Carnival of Books”.

Watch a dog perform circus tricks, a one man circus juggle and perform magic, and learn to walk a tightrope! Oh, and there will also be some books, movies, and raffle prizes.

Author and illustrator Fiona Robinson will also be on hand reading from her award-winning book What Animals Really Like.  Readings will be held at 1:15, 2:15, and 3:15 on Saturday. Her picture book follows a choir full of animals where the composer wrongly stereotypes the animals, but they teach him about what they really enjoy.

What Animals Really Like was the 2012 Winner of the Irma S. Black and James H. Black Award for Excellence in Children’s Literature. The book will be available for purchase and autographing by Robinson.
