American Hotel Hosts St. Patrick's Day Bash

The event included Irish step dancers and a bagpipe player.

Everyone was Irish at the American Hotel and the Market Yard Grille on Thursday evening. The hotel and restaurant held its first St. Patrick’s Day Bash with live music and Irish foods.

The St. Patty’s Day menu included potato leek soup, shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage and quarter-pound corned beef sandwiches, with the beef cut fresh at a carving station. Green beer and discounted Guinness and Harp drafts flowed freely at the restaurant and hotel bars, which were packed by 6:30 p.m.

“We wanted to do something locally and give back to the community,” said Brian Kiddie, executive chef at the Market Yard Grille.

The evening’s entertainment was provided by young step dancers from the Lynn Academy of Irish Dance, including Elizabeth DiMauro, Rachel DiMauro, Katie Clauson, Joe Clauson and Jaque Clark, and bagpipe player Thomas Novicki, a member of the St. Columcille United Gaelic Pipe Band. The Novicki and the step dancers rotated around the restaurant and hotel to ensure all patrons had the opportunity to enjoy them.
