Freehold Insurance Agency Collects Necessities for Hurricane Sandy Victims

The Leigh Insurance Agency will be the only drop off location in Monmouth County for Trusted Choice.

A Freehold Insurance agency is helping those in need this holiday season by becoming the sole donation collection site for Trusted Choice agents.

As apart of the Freehold community for 25 years, the Leigh Insurance Agency has held countless food drives for those in need. This year, the agency will continue to help by participating in project ‘Hope In A Bag’, a food drive that will benefit Hurricane Sandy Victims.

“We [Leigh Insurance Agency] have held a community food drive every year to help the FoodBank,” said Roberta Fallon, VP of the Leigh Agency. “The Foodbank usually has a tough time supplying items for those in need during the holiday season, but this year it is even worse because of all the newly homeless families.”

Trusted Choice, a brand that unites independent insurance agents like Leigh Insurance Agency, has chosen the local agency to serve as the drop off location for Monmouth County residents to donate.

Originally, project ‘Hope in A Bag’ was scheduled to run until Nov. 30, however, Leigh Insurance Agency has decided to extend the drive to keep helping the FoodBank. Residents who would like to participate in project ‘Hope In A Bag’ can bring non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and gift cards to the agency’s address at 10 East Main Street in Freehold Borough. Items collected will be donated directly to the FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties in Neptune.

“The devastation of Sandy is being felt by such a broad range of our insureds and the loss is overwhelming. These folks are not just clients, they are our neighbors,” said Fallon in a press release. “As members of the Trusted Choice group of independent agents and residents of Monmouth County, we are more than happy to volunteer our office and participate in the ‘Hope In A Bag’ campaign."

A list of specific items needed may be found at www.NJHOPEINABAG.com. Donations will be accepted during normal business hours.
