After undergoing four months of renovation phases, welcomes shoppers to browse their increased square footage, larger brand selections, and new departments while experiencing their luxurious shopping atmosphere.
According to Regional Vice President of Stores at Lord & Taylor Richard Weiner, there were two main reasons behind the store’s renovation.
“We wanted to add a home store to this location, similar to our New York flagship on Fifth Avenue that includes such brands as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan and Kate Spade. Secondly, we wanted to elevate the shopping experience by increasing the visual appeal of the store.”
One way Lord & Taylor elevated shopper’s experience was by providing more space for product by turning non-retail space into shopping space. Freehold Lord & Taylor General Manager Bernadette Capelle, explained that the additional square footage came from the store’s storage space. By turning storage space into retail space, the store was able to create a larger second floor, and expand the mens department, the intimates and baby department, and added a Lord & Taylor home store that includes furniture.
“Our new home store is only in a few other Lord and Taylor stores,” explained Capelle. “Here, customers can shop designers like Donna Karan, Kate Spade and Ralph Lauren and even meet with an interior designer and furniture specialist.”
Another noticeable addition to the Freehold Lord & Taylor Store is an expansion of brands like Michael Kors and Ivanka Trump in the shoes, handbags, and jewelry departments.
In addition to the product and department expansion, Lord & Taylor also had a visual upgrade performed by the New York visual team as part of their renovation. New lighting fixtures were added to make the store brighter, 100 new manikins were added to identify with departments and create an overall different look, while new walkways, carpeting, and wallpaper gives shoppers an easy to navigate store that is aesthetically pleasing to shop in.
“We hope to attract new customers to Lord & Taylor’s Freehold store as well as elevate the shopping experience for our existing customers. Our goal is to make this location a destination in Freehold that is current and luxurious, yet approachable. Our strength is in our product and our customer service and we hope to drive this message home within the Freehold community,” explained Weiner.
