'Monmouth County Open for Business' Lt. Governor Working to Keep Businesses in State

Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno spoke to the Howell Business Chamber of Commerce about the steps taken by government to keep businesses from leaving New Jersey

Howell Business professionals started off their Wednesday with an early morning talk from Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno.

In the conference room of the Lomurro Davison Law Office, over 40 chamber members listened intently as Guadagno talked about improvements in tax rates, cutting the red tape, a spring and summer marketing campaign and Hurricane Sandy.

“If you look at the numbers objectively we have done something to turn around the economy in New Jersey,” said Guadagno. “The key number one problem in New Jersey when it comes to businesses is the tax structure. The immediate thing we did [after being elected] was we passed bi-partisan a 2.3 billion dollar tax package to send a message to you business owners that we understand that our entire quality of life relies on your ability to grow your business and stay in New Jersey.”

Following Guadagno’s talk, she answered questions from the audience. Before leaving, she offered each attendee her cell phone number and encouraged each person to reach out should they need any help with anything.

After her morning meeting in Freehold, Guadagno headed up to Piscataway to attend a Council on Innovation Announcement.
