TELL US: What Should Go Here? 23 W Main St.

What do you think would be a great addition to Downtown Freehold?

Ever since RU Music re-located from Downtown Freehold to the , 23 Main St. has been empty for quite some time now.

Located next to the new Investors Savings Bank, the 3,500 square-foot office/retail space is available for lease. According to loopnet.com, rent is $3,000 per month and the property a B2 zoning, which means it can be used for retail goods, a drug store, variety stores, a liquor store or a tavern.

But, what do you think should go here? What is missing from Freehold's downtown strip? TELL US in the comments section below.

I miss the antique stores. It used to be fun to go antiquing in Freehold. Maybe a combination antiques/ book store?

I got in similar discussion to this one about the gas station where the mural park was. there is no shortage of ideas for this town and I see many good ideas in this thread. Like Karen, I miss the antique stores we had. I would like to see a jazz and blues club, similar to Chico's in AP. Another music store would be great. But, it all comes down to who decides to invest their money here. With the exception of one side of East Main Street, for the most part the borough has gone in its own direction, opting for service oriented business as opposed to stores that turn us into a destination spot for western Monmouth. With that in mind, we are likely to see another bank, bodega, hair salon, dollar store, lawyer office, second hand store etc. That is just what this town caters to.

Delicious food, Arcades, sports bar, Billards. Something for everyone!
Consulate Generale June 01, 2013 at 12:07 PM
Many borough residents will find a Mexican Consulate a convenient connection to home, with easy access to the Matrícula Consular de Alta Seguridad (MCAS) (Consular Identification Card). This storefront can also host an open-door day laborer exchange, and the Consulate should willingly offer up a permanent main street presence for CASA freehold and the freehold Boro Dems too. Ideally, attracting much more foot traffic to downtown from the greater Monmouth-Ocean region

A TEA room would be most welcome serving the small english type sandwiches, scones and cake along with a variety of teas from which to choose. Most tea rooms are on the eastern end of monmouth county, it would sure be nice to have one here on the western end where one can go relax enjoy long conversations and not be rushed.
