Walmart Expansion Will Add 85 Brick Jobs

Company approved for noise ordinance reprieve by council Tuesday

An expansion of the Brick Walmart store will add 85 jobs, according to a company spokesman.

The township council on Tuesday night approved a measure that will allow the store to complete indoor construction work during the night time hours by granting a waiver of the township's noise ordinance. The store has already as well as other permits to begin the process of expanding the store by just over 30,000 square feet.

Bill Wertz, a Walmart spokesman, told Brick Patch that the company will expand its current 116,000 square foot general merchandise store to to a 150,000 square foot Walmart Supercenter.

The transition from a traditional store to a Supercenter will add a supermarket and a fast-food restaurant to the location.

"We’ll have a full line of groceries, including meat, fresh produce and deli items; also a garden center pharmacy, vision center and a McDonald’s," Wertz said.

Wert said the project will add 85 jobs and should be completed in spring 2013 barring any unexpected delays.

Bricktucky all over again. The Walton family has more wealth than the bottom 40% of the total population in this country. This corporation gives instructions to it's underpaid employees on how to apply for gov't aid. What a sham! We all pay so that they can enjoy this sick disparity in wealth. Please check these facts out on your own. They just keep killing the middle class jobs , selling imported goods, while the sheep continue to shop there in their trailer park Sunday best.

A bus from Lakewood to the store for part time jobs only. Obama care will prevent hiring fulltime to avoid mandatory health care plans. Brick will need to hire 2 more cops just to take care of the added traffic and crime. Probably a good idea for an Imigration office there also. There is an empty wooded lot near by they can move some of Lakewoods tent city residents to help with there over crowding.
