Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center Appoints Privacy/HIPAA Officer 
Medical Records Supervisor Margaret Meehan to Assume New Role 

Margaret Meehan of Brick Township has been appointed Privacy/HIPAA Officer for Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center, an acute care psychiatric facility providing inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for adults and older adults with psychiatric and dual disorders. She currently serves as the Medical Records Supervisor for the Center and will continue to hold this position in conjunction with her new role.

As the Privacy/HIPAA Officer, Meehan will oversee all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the healthcare organization’s information privacy practices. Meehan has worked with Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center since 1996 and became supervisor in 1999. Prior to joining Barnabas, she was employed by Columbia Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. for several years.
