Lapels Dry Cleaning customers in Brick, Freehold and Verona donate more than one thousand pounds of clothing to Big Brother/Big Sister clothing drive

In its first year participating in Lapels Dry Cleaning’s annual clothing drive for Big Brother/Big Sister, Lapels Dry Cleaning customers in New Jersey area donated 1279 pounds of clothing at Lapels Dry Cleaning stores in Brick, Freehold and Verona. Monies raised from the resale of the donated clothes will benefit Big Brother/Big Sister organizations representing Ocean County, Middlesex County and Monmouth County as well as Big Brother/Big Sister – Clothes for Kids Sake, Inc.

 

“Considering this is the first year we’ve held a drive at our locations in New Jersey, we’re ecstatic over the amount of clothing donated,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning, an environmentally friendly dry cleaner with more than 50 locations nationwide. “Our customers have always been very generous and it’s nice to see that generosity extends to the Garden State.”

The 1279 pounds donated at Lapels locations in New Jersey represents nearly $1300 to the overall clothing drive, which was also held in three other states with Lapels Dry Cleaning stores—Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Arizona. All totaled, Lapels customers donated 9014 pounds of clothes, which could add up to as much as $10,000.

The drive, held from May 6 through May 19, included the following contributions from Lapels Dry Cleaning stores in New Jersey:

·         Lapels of Freehold (600 pounds)

·         Lapels of Brick (540 pounds)

·         Lapels of Verona (139 pounds)

“We’re so grateful for the contribution by Lapels customers and Lapels for coordinating the effort,” said Patti Trustan of Big Brother/Big Sister of Ocean County. “Lapels has a great reputation for caring about its customers. The annual clothing drive shows how much Lapels customers care about people.”
