Freehold Florist Helps Resident Theater Bloom!
Center Players is not the only community group that has benefited from the family owned Especially For You Florist & Gift Shop. Three generations have continued the family's business philosophy.
In the spring of 2001, Center Players of Downtown Freehold opened its doors for the first time with a sold out run of Crossing Delancey. The theater’s quaint lobby displayed a lovely floral arrangement, graciously donated by Especially For You Florist & Gift Shop. That arrangement, followed by a gorgeous floral piece, arriving each weekend there was a show for the next twelve years, has cheered and delighted audiences through the creative design and colors that reflected the theme of the current performance.
Especially For You is a family owned business established October 1, 1976 by Bette and Mickey Schmid, the parents of Marlene Rogala, and grand parents of Laura Wysocki, and Steve Rogala. Marlene, her husband Steve and their children Laura and Steve manage the business. The family continues the tradition of personal attention to every customer, artistic excellence in floral design, and a genuine community involvement. A true belief in establishing win-win relationships and that, "You have to give to get", has been the theme by which they do business each day.
Center Players is not the only community group that has benefited from the family’s business philosophy. The Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, CentraState Medical Center, scouts, little league and many more have enjoyed lovely floral donations. Marlene Rogala is a charter member of the Freehold Center Partnership. In 2004, Marlene was awarded the prestigious McGacken Award, which recognized a Downtown Freehold business owner who participated in the renaissance of the downtown district. She also received the first Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce Small Business award during the 1995 Circle of Excellence.

Especially For You Florist and Center Players share a special relationship that has lasted through the years, surviving economic ups and downs, built on mutual respect and support. "We are looking forward to seeing the floral designs that we will receive for Laughter on the 23rd Floor by Neil Simon, which opens on Friday April 12 and runs through May 11. “This hilarious comedy, set in the 1950’s, gives us a behind-the-scenes peak into the comedy team of the TV classic, Sid Caesar’s, Your Show of Shows”, States Bernice Garfield-Szita, Artistic Director of Center Players. "The arrangements will be created 'especially for you', just like all the work we do!” quips Marlene Rogala.
