Center Players Breaths Life Into a Holiday Classic!

A volunteer ushers in "A Christmas Carol" at Center Playhouse.

As a volunteer usher for the current production, A Christmas Carol at Center Playhouse, I'm offstage during the performances so I only "hear" the play.  But, this Friday night, I found myself often wandering into the control room at the theatre's rear.  I just had to actually "see" snippets of what was "happening" onstage.  The costumes and accents were wonderful.  The singing by Lynne Cefalo, Yvette Cataneo, and others (and even dancing by some of the cast) were great.  Every actor seemed so exactly right for their part; you’d think they were selected after auditioning scores of alternatives.  And, what's on stage is so entertaining, that you forget that many scenes and various London locations are all actually taking place in one room.  Such is the power of the imagination and staging by Director Jeff Caplan.  This production really breathes life into a holiday "classic”!
