The Red Cross is a JOKE!

The Red Cross is a JOKE!

It has been more than 90 days since Hurricane Sandy and I still have not received any money to repair my home.  FEMA has not given me further housing assistance and now my home is infested with bats.  That aside, I tried to call The Red Cross today and their directory has New Jersey listed alphabetically after North Dakota? I finally called 848-202-2930 for assistance and the answering machine says to leave a message and someone will return my call shortly. It then says, "MAILBOX IS FULL!" This is unacceptable and the ignorance of this organization and their lack of concern should be publicized.

WHO IS COMMENTING, AND WHAT'S HE/SHE GOT TO DO WITH RED CROSS, AND HOW MUCH GETTING PAID??????????????????????????????? NEVER SAY IT'S GREAT ORG. PEOPLE I KNOW GAVE PLENTY TO THEM, AND "LIKE THE GUY SAID" "IT'S A JOKE". IT'S NICE TO GIVE A SMALL SANDWICH AND 1 BOTTLE OF WATER, BUT, THEY COLLECT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, AND I DON'T KNOW OF ANYONE WHO IS GETTING HELP. SO, I WENT TO THE VOLUNTEER PAGES, AND THEY DON'T WANT PEOPLE. I SUPPOSE THEY ONLY USE THOSE WHO KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT. SO, TWO WORDS FOR COMMENTING. :) DON'T COMMENT!

Point is their CEO gets paid over $600,000/year. Mr. Capo didn't say he was asking for a new house, car or pay bills. He house was destroyed as were all of his belongings. Have a heart Barb. And ps. the red cross does give clothes.

Red Cross received more $ donations then any other organization. The point is they used the money to pay their staff and drop off freeze dried food to people as if we were in Haiti. Surely the money could be used in a better way. They weren't even here until days after the storm. My local fire dept for days was the outfit doing the most good driving up and down the streets making sure people had blankets and water and asking if anyone needed medical attention. The point is for the organization collecting the most money, how is it helping? PS. the vast majority of the money goes to foreign aid.

How about before another disaster strikes, each person or group contact their church, fire department, or any first responders, and donate through/to them to begin with. Make some calls and find out which churches are noted for helping others and get a volunteer group together and work with them, so that those who actually have the need are served. It's exhausting to keep hashing out about the R.C. bec. they aer no good to us in this country. Getting paid big bucks. Has anyone gone to their pages to try to volunteer? Try it.

1-888-831-0031 - called me and wouldn't speak. When I called them they put me in a never ending loop of options and pressing zero as they suggest to get emergency assistance sends me to yet another loopof... pressing a zero... what a JOKE red gross is!!
