800 without power in county

Jersey Central Power & Light says its working on restoring power

Sunday's blizzard has knocked out power to 1,400 homes in Central New Jersey, hundreds in Monmouth County, officials said Monday.

Stan Prader, spokesman for Jersey Central Power & Light - which serves 1.1 million people in the state - said some 700 people are without power in Middlesex county, while about 800 are without power in Monmouth County. The company hopes to have power restored sometime Monday, Prader said.

Monmouth residents are experiencing power loss in the following municipalities: Aberdeen, Asbury Park, Atlantic Highlands, Deal, Eatontown, Englishtown, Highlands, Little Silver, Manalapan, Marlboro, Matawan, Middletown, Monmouth Beach, Neptune, Red Bank, Rumson, Sea Bright, Sea Girt, Spring Lake, Tinton Falls and Union Beach.
