Legends of Rock Concert Series in Downtown Freehold

A list of five things you need to know Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Update, 10:40 a.m.: Ambrosia was originally scheduled to perform Wednesday at the Legends of Rock concert series but canceled because of transportation issues, according to Downtown Freehold. The Phil Engel Band and The Cryers will perform in their place.

Weather

The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 84 degrees and an overnight low of 65 on Wednesday. It will be mostly sunny with a 20 percent chance of rain.

The Phil Engel Band and The Cryers will perform at the Legends of Rock concert series in front of the Hall of Records building on Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the American Hotel in the Majestic Concert Hall. Seating is limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Meetings

The Freehold Borough Planning Board will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Borough Hall. The governing body will continue hearing testimony on the proposed 7-eleven project at 63 E. Main St.

The Freehold Township Board of Parks & Recreation meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Michael J. Tighe Park Activity Center.

High School Sports

Freehold Township girls tennis plays Howell away Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. Field hockey takes on Middletown North away at 4 p.m. Girls soccer hosts Middletown North at 4 p.m.

Colonials girls tennis faces Monmouth Regional on the road at 3:45 p.m. Field hockey plays Ocean Township at home at 3:45 p.m. Gymnastics hosts Holmdel at 4 p.m.

Teen Driver Safety Program Makeup

The Freehold Regional High School District will hold a makeup session of its Teen Driver Safety Program for parents at Manalapan High School from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Parents are required to attend a session in order to receive a student parking spot for the 2011-2012 school year.
