American Flag Retirement Collection at Freehold Public Library

Weather

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 70 degrees and an overnight low of 49, according to the National Weather Service.

American Flag Retirement Collection

The Freehold Public Library Teen Library Committee is holding a flag retirement collection during May and June to commemorate Memorial Day and Flag Day. Bring your damaged, worn or faded American flags to the library. Any American flag, regardless of material or size, will be accepted; however, remove the flags from any posts or sticks before bringing them in.

The Teen Library Committee and Girl Scout Troop 66 will hold a flag retirement ceremony this summer.

Senior/Senior Prom

The Freehold Township Senior Center will hold its Senior/Senior Prom on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Freehold Township High School. For more information on the event, contact the Senior Center at 732-294-2029.

Meetings

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold a workshop hearing on Thursday at 2 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the Hall of Records.

The Freehold Township Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The Freehold Borough Board of Health meets at Borough Hall at 8 p.m.

High School Sports

Colonials girls golf competes against Barnegat High School away on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. while boys volleyball plays them at home at that time. Boys tennis takes on Neptune at home at 3:45 p.m. Baseball and softball face Pinelands Regional at home at 4 p.m. Boys golf takes on Red Bank Catholic away at 4 p.m.

Patriots boys golf hosts Middletown South at Charleston Springs at 3:30 p.m. Baseball and softball compete against Red Bank Regional away at 4 p.m. Boys tennis plays Old Bridge at home at 4 p.m. Boys lacrosse is also at home, taking on Toms River North at 4 p.m.
