Books for Kids Collection at Library

Books for Kids

The will hold its annual Books for Kids collection beginning Nov. 1. Donate new books for children of any age to the library through the end of December. The books will go to children displaced because of domestic violence and families experiencing financial difficulty.

Preservation Grant Applications

The deadline to submit an application to the Monmouth County Historical Commission’s preservation arts program is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Submissions must be postmarked or delivered to the commission at the Hall of Records Annex.

Preservation, restoration and rehabilitation projects of historic buildings are eligible for funding. Grant applications must include a description of the project, its historical significance, and a detailed budget.

The Western Monmouth Branch Campus of Brookdale Community College will hold an information session on completing an associate’s degree from Brookdale and bachelor’s degree from Rutgers. The Rutgers-Brookdale Information Session will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Rooms 102 and 104.

High School Sports

Colonials boys soccer plays against Lawrence at home on Monday at 2 p.m. in the state tournament. Boys cross country competes in the Shore Conference Tournament in Ocean County Park at 3 p.m. Field hockey plays Allentown away at 3 p.m.

Patriots boys soccer takes on Manalapan at home at 2 p.m. Girls soccer hosts Hamilton East in the state tournament at 2 p.m. Girls cross country competes in the Shore Conference in Ocean County Park at 3:30 p.m., while boys cross country competes at 4 p.m.
