Dr. Cheeko Island Soul Performs at Mall Concert Series

The National Weather Service forecasts a 20 percent chance of rain on Wednesday, with showers and thunderstorms most likely after 2 p.m. The high for the day will be near 93 and the overnight low will be 73.

Dr. Cheeko Island Soul will perform in the Freehold Raceway Mall Concert Series on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The series takes place on the grassy area in front of The Cheesecake Factory. In the event of rain, concerts will be moved into the Macy’s wing on the upper level of the mall.

Singers from around the state will get a chance to show off their vocal abilities in Freehold Idol. The next round takes place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Hall of Records Building.

The Freehold Area Running Club’s Summer 5K Race Series continues Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Battlefield State Park in Manalapan. Registration begins at 5:45 p.m., and features a 5K, mile splits, a mile fun run, and kids races. The cost to race is $3 for club members, $1 for students, and $5 for others.

The Cardiac Support Group meets at CentraState Medical Center on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
