Freehold Borough Holding Free Rabies Clinic

A list of five things you need to know Thursday, Sept. 8.

Weather

The National Weather Service forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms on Thursday. The high for the day will be near 81 degrees and the overnight low will be 67.

Freehold Borough is sponsoring a free rabies vaccination clinic on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. behind the Freehold Borough Firehouse. The clinic will be for dogs and cats, and non-borough residents are welcome to bring their pets to the clinic. Dogs should be on a short leash and cats should be kept in carriers.

High School Sports

Colonials girls tennis plays Colts Neck on the road Thursday at 3:45 p.m. At 4 p.m., boys soccer takes on Colts Neck at home while girls soccer faces them away.

Freehold Township field hockey plays Share Regional away at 4 p.m. Thursday. Boys soccer hosts Middletown North at 4 p.m., while girls soccer faces them on the road at that time.

Meetings

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold a workshop meeting in the Hall of Records building at 2 p.m. on Thursday and a regular meeting at 7 p.m.

The Freehold Township Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The Freehold Borough Board of Health meets at Borough Hall at 8 p.m.

Grace Lutheran Church Potluck

The will hold a potluck dinner for the family whose South Street home was damaged during Hurricane Irene. A large tree uprooted through concrete and fell on the residence. The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and donations for the family will be accepted. For more information, contact the church at 732-462-5122.
