Freehold Borough's Park Avenue Complex Evacuated

A bomb threat was reported at the school.

Students evacuated the Park Avenue Complex on Monday morning following a bomb threat, Superintendent Elizabeth O'Connell confirmed.

"A note was found in Park Avenue Elementary boys bathroom," O'Connell said.

Freehold Borough police searched the building and students were allowed to return after it was deemed safe, according to O'Connell.

The district notified parents that the building had been evacuated, she said.

Park Avenue Elementary was evacuated this same time last year after a written threat had been discovered.
