Freehold Farmer's Market Opens for Season

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts a 50 percent chance of rain or thunderstorms on Friday. The high for the day will be near 83 degrees and the overnight low will be 68.

There is a chance of showers Saturday morning. The high will be near 88 degrees and the overnight low will be 64, according to the NWS.

Sunday will be sunny with a high of 88 degrees and an overnight low of 69.

The Freehold Farmer's Market opens for the season on Friday at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m.  The market will take place each Friday through mid-October. Vendors will gather in front of the Hall of Records to sell fresh, locally grown produce. The participants in this year’s Freehold Farmer's Market include Kauffman Farms, Farmingdale; The Farm, Freehold; Hauser Hill Farms, Old Bridge; Trapper's Honey, Clarksburg; Pickle Licious, Teaneck; Schilke Organic Farms, Eatontown; and Rocky Brook Farm, Millstone.

The Freehold Public Library will sell books in front of the building on Fridays in July from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The annual Freehold Township Day celebration will be held on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Michael J. Tighe Park. The event will feature laser tag, rides, a concert, a car show, vendors and fireworks.

The St. Rose Youth Group will hold a bake sale on Sunday after all masses. All funds raised will support the work and activities of the group.
