Freehold High School Debuts Spring Musical

Weekend Weather

Friday will be sunny with a high near 42 degrees and an overnight low around 23, according to the National Weather Service. Saturday will be sunny with a high of 41, though there’s a chance of rain and snow before 9 p.m. There’s a chance of snow before 11 a.m. Sunday and rain in the afternoon. Sunday’s high will be 41 and the overnight low will be near 24 degrees.

The Freehold High School Drama Club will debut its spring musical, Cinderella: The Enchanted Edition, on Friday at 7 p.m. Additional performances will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets cost $9 for adults, $8 for students, and $7 for children under 12 and senior citizens. There will be an ice cream autograph session after the 1 p.m. show for $2. Tickets will be sold in the auditorium lobby in the hour before the performances.

Volunteers Needed

The Freehold Borough Educational Foundation is partnering with the NJ Marathon to raise funds for the foundation. Don’t worry—you don’t need to run the marathon. The foundation is looking for volunteers to staff one of the Relay Transition Points in Long Branch on Sunday, May 1 from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Volunteers will receive free t-shirts from NJ Marathon.

There are also marathon and half-marathon spaces available for runners who would like to compete as a foundation team member. Runners need to raise $250 in pledges for the foundation. Sports

Patriots boys and girls track will compete at Long Branch on Friday at 3:45 p.m. Baseball plays away at Rumson at 4 p.m., while softball takes on Matawan at home at that time. Girls lacrosse will take on Monmouth Regional away at 4 p.m.

Colonials softball plays away at Howell at 3:30 p.m., while baseball plays them at home at 3:45 p.m. Boys tennis takes on Wall at home at 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Patriots softball competes at Wall at 9 a.m., while boys lacrosse plays Lenape at 10 a.m. Colonials baseball takes on Manalapan at home at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Freehold Pop Warner Football and Cheer is accepting registration on Friday, March 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Opatut Park Field House for returning participants. Additional registration hours for new and returning participants will take place on Saturday, March 26 and Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. Schools

Friday is “Sports Jersey Day” at Laura Donovan School and “Crazy Hat Day” at West Freehold School.

Marshall W. Errickson School will host its Entertainment Night on Friday at 4 p.m.

The Joseph J. Catena School will hold a Mother/Son Rodeo on Friday. While the guest list is full, the event’s coordinators need volunteers to help with setup at 2:30 p.m. and cleanup at 9:30 p.m.

Freehold Borough schools will have early dismissal on Friday because of a staff professional development day.
