Freehold Students Raise Money for Japan
A list of five things you need to know Tuesday, April 26.
Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high near 82 degrees and an overnight low of 63, according to the National Weather Service.
At Park Avenue Elementary, students helped raise $2,363.85 in March and April for the American Red Cross’ Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund. Different grade levels competed with one another in the Penny Wars fundraiser, filling jars to the brim. The Kindergarteners were the winning grade level and received a pizza lunch from and Bella Vita.
Joseph J. Catena Elementary School students raised $1,021.78 for the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund. As part of the school’s Help the Japanese, Please fundraiser, students did extra housework in exchange for donations from their parents and guardians.

The Freehold Memorial Day Parade Committee will hold a fundraiser at from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Present this flier to your server and 20 percent of your pre-tax bill will go to support the parade. (Plus, it’s prime rib night at The Cabin.)

The Freehold Township Board of Education will meet at the Freehold Township Schools Offices at 8 p.m.
The Freehold Township Committee will introduce the 2011 municipal budget during a regular meeting Town Hall at 8 p.m.
Colonials baseball, softball and boys tennis will play Colts Neck at home at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Girls golf will compete against Central Regional away at the time. At 4 p.m., boys golf will take on Long Branch at home 4 p.m.
Patriots boys golf will host Howell at Charleston Springs at 3:30 p.m. Softball will play Hamilton High West away at 4 p.m. Boys tennis will take on Christian Brothers Academy and girls lacrosse faces Colts Neck at home at that time.
