Weather

Thursday will be mostly sunny, according to the National Weather Service. The high for the day will be near 62 degrees and the overnight low will be around 43.

High School Happenings

The Freehold Township High School at 7 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium. There will be no charge.

The Freehold Regional High School District Battle of the Champions will be held at Howell High School at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $5 and will be sold at each of the six regional high school. Tickets will not be available at the door.

Meetings

The Freehold Township Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Freehold Borough Board of Health will hold a meeting at 8 p.m. at Borough Hall.

High School Sports

Patriots softball plays away at Manalapan at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, while boys and girls track and girls lacrosse will compete at home against the Braves at 4 p.m. Boys tennis will take on Middletown South at home at 4 p.m.

Colonials boys golf competes in the Monmouth County Tournament at Hominy Hill at 9 a.m. Baseball and softball play Matawan Regional away at 3:45 p.m. Girls golf hosts Barnegat at 3:45 p.m. Finally, boys tennis hosts Red Bank Catholic at 4 p.m.

Pine Barrens Presentation

The American Association of University Women's Freehold Branch will present the program, "," on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Clifton T. Barkalow School. The public is invited to this free event. Professor Angus Kress Gillespie of Rutgers University will explore the stories and history of the Pine Barrens. He will focus on the Jersey Devil as well as the Pineys, their self-sufficiency and attachment to the land. This program is funded by the NJ Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
