Freehold Township Looks for Another Consumer Bowl Win

Weather

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a chance of rain on Wednesday. The high for the day will be near 53 degrees and the overnight low will be 43 degrees.

Regional Consumer Bowl

Freehold Township will look to grab another Consumer Bowl win on Wednesday. The Patriots won the competition last month and will participate in the Central Jersey regionals at the Monmouth County Fire Academy. The Patriots have won the county title three years running; the team won the state title in 2009 and the regional title in 2010.

Meetings

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold a workshop meeting at 2 p.m. Wednesday and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the Hall of Records.

The Freehold Borough Planning Board will meet in Borough Hall at 7 p.m. The board is expected to unveil the final version of the master plan with goals for land uses in the borough.

The Freehold Township Board of Parks & Recreation will meet at the Michael J. Tighe Park Activity Center at 7:30 p.m.

High School Sports

Patriots boys golf will host Rancocas Valley Regional on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., while boys tennis will play away at Toms River North at 3:45 p.m. Baseball and softball will play Middletown South at home at 4 p.m. Boys lacrosse will compete against Christian Brothers Academy at home at 4 p.m.

Colonials girls golf plays Colts Neck away at 3:30 p.m. while softball takes on the Cougars at 4 p.m. Boys track competes against Ocean Township away at 3:45 p.m. while girls track will take them on at home at that time. Boys golf hosts Red Bank Catholic and boys tennis plays Long Branch at 4 p.m. Boys volleyball takes on Red Bank Catholic away at 4 p.m.

Events

The Teen Library Committee will host an Egg-Hunt Challenge on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Freehold Public Library. Come solve the clues and find the eggs.

The Freehold Music Center in the Freehold Raceway Mall will host Lisa Frost-Goodall, an independent music teacher, on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in 17th century Venice and play recorded examples. The event is sponsored by the Cecilian Music Club.
