Freehold Township Update: 1,000 More Residents will See Power Tonight

Update comes from Mayor Anthony Ammiano after speaking with JCP&L.

After speaking to a JCP&L representative, 1,000 more residences are expected to see power tonight, according to Freehold Township Mayor Anthony Ammiano.

Slightly before 1:30 p.m. on Friday, JCP&L provided an updated timeline to Ammiano with estimated power renewal times. According to Ammiano, as of 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, 2,400 Freehold Township residents were without power. Currently, JCP&L says that approximately 1,800 residents are without power. JCP&L crews will be working until 10 p.m. tonight and by that time, outages in Freehold Township are expected to range between 500 and 800 residents.

“On Thursday, we went from 4,200 to 2,400 outages,” reported Ammiano. “It's a slow progress but it is still progress.”

Ammiano also explained that crews will continue to work throughout the weekend until all power has been restored. The only reason why JCP&L crews would be able to stop working is if there are high winds.
