Get Out: Civil War Reenactment, Apple Fest, Chris Brown

Find out where the fun is at in Monmouth County this weekend.

When & where: Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Monmouth County Historical Association Museum & Library, 70 Court St. in Freehold

Why you should go: The Monmouth County Historical Association will host a Civil War reenactment featuring mock drills and the firing of blank ammunition. Visitors will get a chance to observe rug making, chair caning and hat box making, as well as learn how to fire a cannon. Visit with Mary Todd Lincoln, watch a Victorian tea ceremony or learn the dances of the Civil War era. Activities are scheduled throughout the day and the public is invited to participate.

When & where: Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Delicious Orchards, 36 Route 34 in Colts Neck

Why you should go: Delicious Orchards is celebrating 100 years in business with live music, antique cars, food samples and a clown. Delicious Orchards’ resident beekeeper will also be on hand at the observation hive at the front of the store to answer your questions about bees.

Why you should go: R&B singer Chris Brown is making a stop in Holmdel to promote his new album The F.A.M.E. Special guest performers will include Kelly Rowland, T-Pain and TYGA.
