Why you should go: Dance off the Thanksgiving calories and let loose at a dance party at the American Hotel on Saturday. Music will be provided by Mission Dance Entertainment.
What does it cost: Bring non-perishable food items to benefit Open Door Food Pantry.

When and where: Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Dance Attitudes, 6 Timber Lane in Marlboro
Why you should go: The second annual Dance-a-Thon organized by a group of teen fundraisers called Beauty Foundation Friends will raise money for families with children with cancer.

When and where: Friday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Monmouth County parking lot in Freehold. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
Why you should go: The 27th annual Born to Run five mile race benefits the Open Door Food Pantry. The course loops through scenic Lake Topanemus Park and the Court Jester will provide bagels, fruit, snouts and soda at the finish line.

When and where: Friday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. at the in Manalapan
Why you should go: After your turkey overload, head to the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan for a double dose of family films. The library will screen The Winnie the Pooh Movie and Cars 2.

When and where: Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Freehold Elks Lodge
Why you should go: The Freehold Elks comedy night hosted by the Legendary Wid will feature comedians from the Philadelphia area. The event includes pub food, $1 drafts, and a cash bar. The material may not be appropriate for minors.
What does it cost: $18 in advance, $20 at the door
