Have Your Home Featured on the Historical Preservation Commission House Tour

The Freehold Borough Historical Preservation Commission is looking for unique beautiful homes to be featured in their house tour.

Are you proud of your home and want to show it off?

Now is your time to shine! The (FBHPC) is working on its and they are in need of unique homes.

“For one-day homeowners open their homes up to the public. Visitors do a self-guided tour of the various homes of the borough and learn what makes each house beautiful, unique, and special to the homeowners,” explained Lynda Keller of the FBHPC.

According to Keller, there are usually eight houses on the tour and there are no set qualifications for homes to be included on the tour.

“One year we did across the centuries, then last year we tried to do different styles. All kinds of architecture blending well together is a great thing to see on a house tour,” said Keller.

In year’s past, themes for the tour have included Freehold through the Ages, promoting houses from the 18,19, and 20th centuries. Last year, the commission worked in conjunction with the Freehold Borough Arts Council. In addition to viewing the homes, artwork was on display as well as live artists performing a variety of music throughout the day.

The tour will be on June 16 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. If you are interested in having your house part of the tour, contact Lynda Keller at 732 421-3750 or at bluefairy614@gmail.com.
