Hydrant Flushing in Freehold

Weather

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a 90 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday. The high for the day will be near 63 degrees and the overnight low will be near 63.

Hydrant Flushing

Freehold Borough will begin fall hydrant flushing Wednesday, Oct. 12 beginning at noon and continuing until all flushing has been completed.

Freehold Township hydrant flushing is currently underway and will continue through Wednesday, Nov. 30. Flushing will be done Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Water pressure may be slightly lower and the water may be discolored as the flushing is performed in a neighborhood. The discoloration is not harmful and will clear up if cold water is allowed to run for a few minutes.

Meetings

Tuesday's scheduled Freehold Borough Planning Board hearing on the proposed 7-Eleven at 63 E. Main St. has been postponed until Dec. 14 at the request of the applicant.

The Freehold Township Board of Parks & Recreation will meet at the on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

High School Sports

Patriots field hockey will host St. John Vianney at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Boys soccer plays Howell at home at 4 p.m., while girls takes on the Rebels away at 6 p.m.

Colonials field hockey hosts Long Branch at 4 p.m. Gymnastics competes against St. Rose at home at 4 p.m.

Learning Center Open Houses

The Freehold Regional High School District is holding a series of open houses for its learning centers and academies. Students accepted into one of the district’s programs become full-time students at that program’s home school.

This week, the Medical Sciences Learning Center open house will take place Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Freehold High School. The Navy Junior ROTC Academy and Law and Public Service Learning Center open houses will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at Colts Neck High School.
