Kickin’ It Campaign Holds Student Party

Kickin’ It Campaign Student Party

The Rocky Marciano World Foundation continues its Kickin’ It Campaign against bullying with a student party Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 3-2 Count Athletic Training Facility on Fairfield Road in Howell.

The event will feature music, dancing, activities and snacks. Children age nine to 13 years are invited to attend. The cost is $10 for the general public and free for Kickin’ It Campaign members.

Student parties will be held every Wednesday during the summer until Sep. 7.

Freehold Idol

Singers from around the state will get a chance to show off their vocal abilities in Freehold Idol. The fifth round takes place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Hall of Records Building. In the event of inclement weather, Freehold Idol will move into the American Hotel.

Summer 5K Race Series

The Freehold Area Running Club’s Summer 5K Race Series begins Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Battlefield State Park in Manalapan. Registration begins at 5:45 p.m., and features a 5K, mile splits, a mile fun run, and kids races. The cost to race is $3 for club members, $1 for students, and $5 for others.

If you can make tonight’s race, don’t worry. The summer series races take place every Wednesday through July 27.

Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament

Registration is open for the Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold’s Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament. The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 14 at 6 p.m. at Our House Tavern in Farmingdale. The event costs $125 per person and includes a dinner buffet and $5,000 in chips. Early registration is open until July 8 and costs $100 per person for dinner and $6,000 in chips. If 100 players register, the first place prize will be a $2,500 Visa gift card.

Funds raised will benefit the charities and community organizations supported by the club. (View the registration flier for more information.)
