Kruise Night at Freehold Elks Lodge

Weather

Thursday will be cloudy and gradually become mostly sunny, according to the National Weather Service. The high for the day will be 78 degrees and the overnight low will be 57.

The Freehold Elks Lodge will hold Kruise Night in its parking lot on Thursday at 6 p.m. Enjoy classic cars, food from the grill, music and refreshments. All proceeds from food sales benefits the Army of Hope, an organization that supports families of soldiers serving overseas.

Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, continues Thursday and ends at sundown on Friday.

The will light candles after 7:24 p.m. on Thursday and at 6:24 p.m. on Friday. Rosh Hashanah services will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Congregation Kol Am will hold Rosh Hashanah services on Thursday at 10 a.m. and a children and family service at 1:30 p.m. at Marlboro Middle School. Services will also be held at Michael J. Tighe Park on Friday at 11 a.m. Tickets for high holy days services are available at the congregation’s Web site.

Freehold schools are closed Thursday and Friday.

Flu Vaccinations

will offer flu vaccines at the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The cost of the vaccine is $25 and only cash or checks will be accepted.

Barnes & Noble will hold its weekly storytime and craft program in the children’s section on Thursday at 11 a.m. The featured story is Baily by Harry Bliss.
