Live Music at Freehold Elks' Kruise Night

Weather

Showers and thunderstorms are likely Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The high for the day will be around 88 degrees and the overnight low will be 69.

will host Kruise Night on Thursday at 6 p.m. The event is free to attend and features classic cars, live music and inexpensive food from the grill. All profits will benefit the Army of Hope, which assists families of soldiers serving overseas.

The St. Padre Pio Society will bring the Feast of the Giglio to beginning Thursday at 5 p.m. The event will feature rides, food and nightly entertainment. The festival will culminate Sunday at 1 p.m. with 75 to 100 men lifting the giglio, a five-story tall wooden structure.

Downtown Freehold’s free concert series continues Thursday with The Phil Engel Band. The group will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in front of the Hall of Records building.

Meetings

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold a workshop meeting at the Hall of Records building at 1 p.m. Thursday and a regular meeting in the Farmingdale Municipal Building, 13 Asbury Ave. in Farmingdale, at 7 p.m.
