New York Polyphony Opens Downtown Concert Series

Weather

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecast calls for rain on Friday and possibly a thunderstorm. The high for the day will be near 75 and the overnight low will be 65.

Saturday will be cloudy with a 70 percent chance of rain, according to the NWS. The high for the day will be near 76 and the overnight low will be 65.

Sunday will be partly sunny with a high near 77 and an overnight low of 63, according to the NWS. The forecast also calls for a 50 percent chance of rain.

The Downtown Concert Series holds its first concert of the 2011-2012 season on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at . The New York Polyphony, a male classic vocal quartet, will perform everything from austere medieval melodies to cutting edge contemporary works. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children.

The will host a psychic fair on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Psychics with specialties ranging from tarot to crystals to psychometry will be on hand to perform readings. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $10 and each reading is $10.

Home owners across Freehold Borough will participate in the fourth annual Borough-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A list of sale locations will be provided by Borough Hall on the day of the sale.

High School Sports

On Friday, Patriots girls tennis heads to Manasquan at 3:45 p.m. Boys soccer hosts Marlboro at 4 p.m. while girls soccer plays them away at that time. Field hockey plays Manalapan at home at 4 p.m. Girls gymnastics competes in a meet at Brick Memorial at 4:30 p.m. Football takes on Middletown South away at 7 p.m.

Colonials girls tennis hosts Brick Memorial at 3:30 p.m. Field hockey plays Neptune at home at 3:45 p.m. while girls volleyball takes on St. John Vianney away at that time. Football faces Ocean Township away at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Patriots boys soccer faces Red Bank Catholic at 10 a.m.

Colonials boys soccer hosts Neptune at 10 a.m. while girls soccer plays them away at 6 p.m.
