Power Outages Hit Monmouth Following Heavy Winds, Rain

Over 5,000 Monmouth County residents were without power Thursday morning.

Heavy winds and rain battered Monmouth County Wednesday night into Thursday, leaving thousands without power.

The Jersey Central Power & Light outage map showed 5,268 residents without power as of 8:50 a.m. on Thursday.

Aberdeen and Freehold Township each had over 500 households in the dark. In Red Bank and Sea Bright, over 400 lost electric, while Belmar had 396 without power. JCP&L reported over 200 customers in Eatontown, Middletown and West Long Branch lost electrical service.

JCP&L advises residents to stay away from any downed power lines and to report outages by calling 888-544-4877.
