Power Back in Areas of Freehold Township

JCP&L outage map shows that the overall number of outages in Freehold Township is lower than previous days.

The morning after Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey over 18,000 Freehold residents were without power. Three days later, power restoration has begun in certain areas of Freehold Township.

According to JCP&L’s outage map, the majority of Freehold Township is still without power, however, the total number of outages has decreased by 1,740. The morning after the storm there were 13,951 outages in Freehold Township, now the map reports 12,211 outages,

Freehold Township Mayor Anthony Ammiano said that through coordination efforts with the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) some traffic lights are back on in Township.

After a call with JCP&L, Ammiano said that crews are expected to begin working to restore power in Freehold Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. JCP&L is still sticking to their original prediction of seven to 10 day for the power to be fully restored.
