Weather

The National Weather Service Forecast calls for a chance of rain on Monday, with thunderstorms possible after noon. The high will be near 65 degrees and the overnight low will be 56.

Park Avenue Elementary Yard Sale

The Park Avenue Elementary PTO will hold a yard sale and flower sale all day on Saturday, April 30. Spaces are available for $10 per 10x10 parking spot at the school. Breakfast and lunch items will be available for purchase. For more information, contact Carolyn Patrick at 732-308-3511.

“My County” Poster Contest

The deadline for fourth graders to submit entries for the "My County" poster contest is Monday. Students entering the contest will show what they like best about Monmouth County.

Posters entered in the contest must be on standard 22-inch by 28-inch poster board with the words "Monmouth County" appearing at the top of the poster in four-inch letters with black marker. The student’s name, teacher’s name and school must be printed neatly in the lower right-hand corner on the back of the poster.

Posters must be mailed or delivered to the Monmouth County Surrogate’s Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday in the Hall of Records at 1 East Main St. in Freehold.

Meetings

On Monday, the Freehold Borough Historic Preservation Commission will hold a meeting at Freehold Borough Hall at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Freehold Borough Board of Education will meet at Park Avenue Elementary School at 7 p.m. and the Freehold Township Board of Education will meet at the Freehold Township Schools Offices at 8 p.m. The Freehold Township Committee will introduce the 2011 municipal budget during a regular meeting Town Hall at 8 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold a workshop meeting at the Hall of Records at 1 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m.. The Freehold Borough Planning Board will hold a meeting at Borough Hall at 7 p.m. Freehold Township Board of Parks & Recreation will meet at the Michael J. Tighe Park Activity Center at 7:30 p.m.

On Thursday, the Freehold Township Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

High School Sports

On Tuesday, Colonials baseball, softball and boys tennis will play Colts Neck at home at 3:45 p.m. Girls golf will compete against Central Regional away at the time. At 4 p.m., boys golf will take on Long Branch at home 4 p.m.

Patriots boys golf will host Howell at Charleston Springs at 3:30 p.m. Softball will play Hamilton High West away at 4 p.m. Boys tennis will take on Christian Brothers Academy and girls lacrosse faces Colts Neck at home at that time.

On Wednesday, Colonials girls golf will compete in the Monmouth County Tournament at Charleston Springs at 1 p.m. At 3:45 p.m., boys tennis plays Ocean Township away at 3:45 p.m. Boys track will compete against Monmouth Regional and Red Bank Catholic at home at 3:45 p.m. while girls track will take on the two teams away at Monmouth Regional at that time. At 4 p.m., boys volleyball plays Long Branch at home.

Patriots boys golf hosts Christian Brothers Academy at Charleston Springs at 3:30 p.m. Boys tennis will play Marlboro away at 3:45 p.m. Baseball takes on Christian Brothers Academy at home at 4 p.m., while softball faces Manasquan away at that time. Boys lacrosse will play Ocean Township away at 4 p.m.

On Thursday, Colonials boys golf hosts Colts Neck at 3:30 p.m., while girls golf faces Marlboro away at that time. At 3:45 p.m. baseball and softball play Ocean Township away, and boys volleyball plays Marlboro at home at that time. Boys tennis hosts the Patriots at 3:45 p.m.

Patriots boys track will compete in the Penn Relays at 9:40 a.m. At 1 p.m., boys golf will compete in the Shore Conference Tournament at Eagle Oak. Baseball and softball play Middletown North away at 4 p.m., while girls lacrosse faces Marlboro away at that time.

On Friday, Patriots boys tennis plays Middletown North away at 3:45 p.m. Boys lacrosse hosts Red Bank Catholic at 4 p.m. Boys track will compete in the Penn Relays at 5:55 p.m.
