Richard Hartman Memorial Soccer Game at Opatut Park

Clifton T. Barkalow Middle School and Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School students will compete in the second annual Rich Hartman Memorial Soccer Game on Monday at 7 p.m. at . Both boys and girls soccer teams will take part.

Hartman was a teacher and coach at Barkalow before he died suddenly in October 2010. The Barkalow in Hartman’s memory in May.

The Freehold Regional High School District is holding a series of open houses for its learning centers and academies. Students accepted into one of the district’s programs become full-time students at that program’s home school.

This week, the Fine Arts and Performing Arts Academy and the Humanities Learning Center will be held at Howell High School on Monday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. The Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Academy open house will be held at Freehold High School on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. The Business Administration Learning Center open house will take place Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Marlboro High School. The Animal and Botanical Sciences Academy and the Contemporary Global Issues Learning Center open houses will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Freehold Township High School.

Online applications for the 2012-2013 school year will open Friday, Oct. 7.

The Freehold Township Human Relations Council will meet at Town Hall on Monday at 7 p.m.

The Freehold Borough Council meets at Borough Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Patriots boys soccer takes on Manalapan away at 3:45 p.m. Girls tennis hosts Howell at 3:45 p.m. Girls soccer plays Manalapan at home at 4 p.m., while field hockey takes on Howell at that time.

Colonials girls tennis competes against Ocean Township away at 3:30 p.m. Field hockey heads to Monmouth Regional at 3:45 p.m., while girls volleyball plays Jackson Liberty away at that time. Boys soccer hosts Red Bank Catholic at 4 p.m., while girls soccer takes on the Caseys away at that time. Gymnastics competes against Shore Regional at 4:30 p.m.
