Second Round of Freehold Idol Wednesday

Weather

Mother Nature is bringing the heat Wednesday. The high for the day will be near 97 with heat index values as high as 100, according to the National Weather Service. The overnight low will be around 72.

Freehold Idol

Singers from around the state will get a chance to show off their vocal abilities in Freehold Idol. The second round takes place Wednesday at 7:30 in front of the Hall of Records Building.

Western Monmouth County Newcomers Club

The Western Monmouth County Newcomers Club will hold its end of year banquet and gift auction at Park Avenue Bistro on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The event will also feature a fashion show of Coldwater Creek clothing. The dinner costs $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers, with proceeds benefitting Manna House.

Senior Citizens Transportation

The Senior Citizens' Housing Corporation, in conjunction with Freehold Borough, offers free transportation for seniors and disabled persons residing in the municipality.

Transportation is available Monday through Friday to and from doctors' offices, CentraState Medical Center, local grocery stores, Wal-Mart, and the Freehold Raceway Mall. Call 732 431-7599 for more information.

Meetings

The Freehold Borough Planning Board will meet at Borough Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Freehold Township Parks & Recreation Commission meets at the Michael J. Tighe Activity Center at 7:30 p.m.

The Freehold Township Shade Tree Commission meets at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.
