Freehold Township celebrated a great victory, earned a seventh straight "A" North title, and honored their seniors after the game.
When the Freehold Township High School girls lacrosse team lost to Howell High School six days ago, their quest for a seventh straight Shore Conference "A" North title seemed all but over.
What a difference a week makes.
Two days after that demoralizing loss, Colts Neck High School faced Manalapan High School with a chance to clinch the "A" North title. But Manalapan shocked Colts Neck with a stunning 14-13 double overtime victory. That reopened the door for Freehold Township.

On Monday May 13, 2013, Freehold Township hosted Wall High School with redemption in mind. But Wall had their sights on the division as well. The winner of this game would share the "A" North title with Colts Neck.
As if that was not enough drama, this day was the Senior Game for Freehold Township.

Wall took a 5-2 lead into halftime. But Freehold Township stormed back in the second half, outscoring Wall 4-1. In the overtime period, Freehold Township scored the first two goals and held Wall to one goal. And Freehold Township celebrated a great victory, earned a seventh straight "A" North title, and honored their seniors after the game.
Monday was the highest point of the season for Freehold Township, after suffering their lowest point just six days earlier.
