Here are a few guidelines for selling your clothes on consignment:

  • Consignment shops usually buy seasonal clothing, so think shorts and tank tops in the spring, and coats and pants in the fall.
  • If the clothing is very outdated, it usually won't sell unless you're selling to a vintage store.
  • If any clothing has missing buttons or threads sticking out, fix it before you go to the store.
  • Wash the clothes and have them smelling and looking their best.

Where to Donate Your Old Clothes

If you don't want to sell all of your clothing items, consider donating them during the a clothing collection or to local organizations.
