Local Band Vying for Grammy Nod

A band that includes members from Freehold and Colts Neck has a chance to join the music elite as their latest album is up for a possible Grammy Award nomination.

The band, known as Iron Bridge released their debut album “Road Not Taken” last month and recently found out they are on the entry ballot for the “Best Rock Album” category. Their single “All Our Yesterdays” has made it onto the American Music Association’s charts for Adult Album Alternative and has been played not only on stations around the country but in Europe as well.

Members of the band include Freehold resident Steve Walsh on guitar and Colts Neck resident Scott Suky on drums. The duo have been friends since high school and college and reconnected after 25 years apart through Facebook. Since then they have added not only fellow Colts Neck resident Chandler Mogel as a singer and songwriter but also Scott’s wife Lanie on bass. Keeping their Monmouth County roots the group recorded the album at the Shorefire Recording Studios in Long Branch.

A press release describes the concept for the album as “the traditional rock album, utilizing vintage writing and recording processes and equipment in order to capture that 70’s rock feel.” The band plans to promote their efforts with a show on November 8 at The Saint in Asbury Park. Tickets are on sale on The Saint’s website and the album is currently available on iTunes, Amazon and on CD on the band’s website.
