Local Scouts Helping Ability Tree Grow

Drop off deadline is December 6.

In the spirit of the holiday season a local Girl Scout troop is doing its part to help local families make it a special time for everyone.

Troop 870 is working with Ability Tree with a goal of making 200 stockings for children with special needs. With the group hosting their annual holiday party on December 14 the scouts are scrambling to collect a wide variety of items to make special presents.

Items to be collected include nut-free candies, candy canes, pencils and large sized crayons. They are also looking for new crazy socks, mittens and gloves as well as small stuffed animals.
