Getting into the holiday spirit has never been easier for Freehold residents.
Great seasonal events will be taking place throughout the month of December right in the heart of Freehold. Be sure to mark the below dates down and clear your calendar to make sure you will be able to experience all that Freehold has to offer this month.
Tuesday, Dec. 4: Downtown Freehold presents the lighting of the Christmas tree in front of the Hall of Records. The lighting ceremony will run from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will feature music from the Rock N Roll Chorus, and a special appearance from Santa Claus.
Friday, Dec. 7: Center Players presents Miracle On 34th Street: A Live Radio Play. Performances will be held at Center Playhouse, Dec. 7, 8, 14, and 15 at 8 p.m. On Dec 9 and 16 the play will begin at 2 p.m. A special Thursday evening performance on Dec. 13 will take place at 7 p.m. Tickets for this special holiday offering are $23 for seniors and students and $25 for adults. Saturday, Dec. 8: From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. children can get their picture taken with Santa Claus at Retro Fitness of Freehold. The picture is free with the donation of a new toy to Toys for Tots. There will also be face painting and arts and crafts will be available for kids of all ages. Non-members welcome.
Saturday, Dec. 8: The Santa Train is coming to town from noon until 2 pm at the Freehold Bus Station. The Freehold Borough PBA and Conrail present this family-friendly event.
Saturday, Dec. 8: The Holiday House Tour will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. The tour starts at the American Hotel, during the tour, historical points of interest will be brought to life by a narrator between each stop on a shuttle bus. Once completed, the tour will return to the American Hotel. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children and are available in advance at the clerk’s office in the first floor of Borough Hall. Sunday, Dec. 9: A Holiday Gift Bazaar will take place at the St. Rose of Lima School. There will be faffles for some great prizes and a large selection of gifts will be available for purchase. Santa will also be available for pictures. For more information visit the event’s listing.
Monday, Dec. 10: A Winter Wonderland party will take place at KinderCare from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing and music by DJ Jesse as well as fun arts and crafts for the children. For more information visit the event’s listing.
Monday, Dec. 10: A Menorah Lighting celebration will take place outside the Hall of Records. The lighting will begin at 5 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 14: The Jolly Trolley returns to Freehold Borough to festively ferry guests throughout the downtown. Presented by Ocean First Bank, the trolley tour leaves in front of the Sun Bank on Main Street during the following dates/times: Friday, Dec.14, from 5 p.m. through 8 p.m. and Saturday Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 16, from 3 p.m. through 8 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Saturday, Dec. 15: St. Rose of Lima Church will be the beautiful setting for the annual holiday concert, this year called Voice of the Turtle Dove, a collection of uplifting holiday songs, inspirational and joyous. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
