The Abundant Life Church of God has come a long way since it was started out of the Women's Center on South Street and this weekend it will mark a milestone anniversary.
It was in 1988 when church administrator Joann Garzarella said they began serving the community. In 2003 the church moved into its current building and added an expansion in 2008 with more growth on the horizon. She said one thing that makes the church special is that it is multi-cultural and multi-racial among its 600 active members.
"The main mission is to help people find a relationship with god through Jesus Christ," she said. "We're here to make a difference one person at a time."
The main celebration of 25 years will be On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. which will be followed by a picnic fellowship at the church. For more information check out the church's website or call 732-409-2923.
