Come to the Library for Animania! A One Day Celebration of Anime on Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive,  Manalapan.

Animania! will feature artists, movies, games and a Teen Cosplay Contest.

Listen to artists talk about the anime business, get tips on how to draw an anime illustration from our Artists Alley lineup, participate in Karaoke and table top gaming, and check out the vendors at the Anime Expo.

 Special guest Anime voice actor Michele Knotz will speak at 11 a.m. Knotz is known for her work in the Pokemon anime series, and is the voice of Team Rocket’s Jessie, May, and the Pokedex, among others. Hear about her work and love of anime!

Visit Artists’ Alley, starring:  Tron Bonne, Mina Sanwald,  Square Painter,  Robin & Jillian Milne. The Anime Expo area will feature Anime Castle and  Kyoto Anime.

Then grab your anime-inspired costume, and strut your stuff on the stage for the Teen Cosplay Contest at 1:30 p.m.! The Animania! event is open to all ages, but the Cosplay Contest will be only open to teens in grades 6 and up.

Contest participants must pre-register in order to compete. Contest rules and consent forms are online at www.monmouthcountylib.org  There will be room for only 30 contestants, so don’t miss out! The consent form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian, and you must bring a copy with you.
